FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Are Telephone Sessions and Online Therapy covered by my insurance?
A: You will need to check with your individual insurance carrier to find out if they will cover Telephone Sessions and Online Therapy.

Q: How do I start?
A: The first step is to Request an Appointment. Or, contact us by phone at 403-247-1441.

Q: Will I receive a confirmation after I book a session?
A: Yes, You will go through an Intake process over the phone. You will then receive a telephone call or an email after Dr. Hedva has reviewed your Client Questionnaire. Dr. Hedva may determine from your questionnaire that another provider would better suite your needs and she will offer you referrals, or she may suggest booking a session, a marathon session or a customized training session.

Q: How effective are phone sessions or on-line therapy?
A: Both can be very effective. These venues eliminate many of the obstacles that prevent people from seeking and receiving therapy, such as being in geographically isolated areas, being homebound, and having fear of being seen due to feelings of shame around their problems.

The only concern may be confidentiality, as telephone sessions (especially cell phone signals and SKYPE sessions) do send out a broadcast band radio wave. In general, however, telephone and SKYPE are anonymous and effective therapy venues for most of the issues that bring people into traditional therapy, as well as providing web-cam options on SKYPE, which adds some of the benefits of traditional face-to-face therapy, while using an easier, more cost-effective and convenient access. Online Therapy can also help stay-at-home parents, adolescents who are already comfortable being online and busy executives.

Q: How can I get a hold of a person if I have a question is not answered on the site?

A: Please call us at 403-247-1441 and our office staff will return your call within 24 hours of your call Monday- Friday.
